Kadesha Croney founded Desha's Online Academy (DOA) in 2019 and has served as our CEO since. She guides DOA’s overall strategic vision as well as provides day-to-day management and oversight. Kadesha has grown DOA from a small tutoring business into a thriving, dynamic international company recognized for its ability to connect disengaged students across the Caribbean and North America online. Under Kadesha's direction, our vision to connect disconnected students online was created and perfectly captures the company's culture, way of thinking, and strategy toward students.

The Beginning

ON THE PATH TO DOA INTERNATIONAL

Prior to her role at DOA, Kadesha was an educator at the tender age of 17. Her journey in education started as a result of the innumerable challenges faced by youths in her community. She started as a Sunday school teacher and a summer school teacher, inspiring the young people in her community.

The Shaping

GETTING THE GROUNDWORK DONE

During her journey in secondary education, she was consistently ranked among the top students in her grade, from the seventh to the eleventh grade. She passed ten Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) exams. She moved on to earn an Associate Degree in Environmental Science due to passing nine (9) disciplines at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) level. She is a lover of extracurricular activities, serving as the chess club manager, vice president of the Red Cross Society, active member of the Science Society, and a former parish queen. After completing secondary education, she was hired to teach the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) class at a local school in her community. She helped the youngsters with various academic subjects as well as with their extracurricular athletic endeavors.

She has thorough comprehension of the CSEC and CAPE syllabuses as well as the Teaching Quality Standard that students must satisfy in order to pass their examinations.
